Chewy Chocolate Cookies
By Jennifer
Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups (2 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans or hazelnuts

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F.

Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar just until blended. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing just until blended after each addition. Mix in vanilla.

Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, mixing just until blended. Stir in nuts.

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake, one pan at a time, for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are set.

Cool on pan for a few minutes. Then, remove to wire racks to cool completely.
