Are you a pecan pie lover? This buttery and nutty sauce is for you. It has all the delicious flavor of pecan pie in a form that takes about 10 minutes to prepare. When served over butter pecan ice cream, you have a dessert that may become a go-to staple when there isn’t time to bake a pie.

Butter Pecan Pie Sauce

Makes about 1 2/3 cups


4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2/3 cup pecan pieces
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons white corn syrup
½ cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract


In a medium saucepan, melt the butter. Add pecans and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring for 5 minutes. Butter should turn light brown, but not burn.

While stirring, add sugar, corn syrup and heavy cream. Cook over medium heat for five minutes stirring constantly. Stir in vanilla. Serve over ice cream.
