How To Make Butter Toffee

Step 1: Heat Ingredients

In a heavy saucepan, combine 1 cup of unsalted butter, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 2 1/2 tablespoons of bourbon whiskey, and 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt. Place over medium-high heat and cook, whisking occasionally. Once the mixture reaches 250°F, whisk constantly until the mixture reaches 298°F. Remove from heat.

Step 2: Pour Over Baking Sheet

Immediately pour the hot candy onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spinkle on toasted walnuts and flaky sea salt.

Step 3: Let Harden & Store

Let the candy set at room temperature until hard and brittle, about 30 minutes. Break the candy into pieces and store at room temperature in an air-tight container. Ready to get started?
