Jam-Swirled Blondies

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup jam or preserves


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 9x13 baking pan.

Step 2

Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In separate bowl, mix together butter, sugar and brown sugar until thoroughly mixed. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.

Step 4

Gradually add flour mixture, mixing just until combined.

Step 5

Transfer batter to prepared pan and spread evenly. Dollop jam on top of batter and use thin knife to swirl jam into batter.

Step 6

Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan before cutting into bars.
